Creativity and Learning: a promising marriage

Isabelle Capron Puozzo

Further to the actual challenges of the society, today creativity has an important place in the curricula and in the learning process (Puozzo Capron, 2015). In education, thinking creatively induces a fundamental reflection that should be done by the educational policy-makers, the schools, the researchers and the teachers. If numerous obstacles prevent the creative practices, it should be essential to overcome them and to build a creative school. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to develop a theoretical and practical reflection about terms and conditions to implement a pedagogy of creativity. This article defines a pedagogy of creativity it according to the social cognitive theory (Bandura, 1986). Moreover, it introduces the results of a qualitative research realized in vocational school in Italy. The results put in evidence the complexity to achieve concurrently the creative and cognitive goals in a pedagogy of the creativity. But they reveal the potential and the impact of the pedagogic innovation on learning.
