Dina Bertovi Jovine as Gramsci’s exegete

After the Second World War and the end of the fascist regime, Dina Bertoni Jovine was one of the intellectuals who worked in the Italian Communist Party. The main success of Togliatti’s policy was the construction of a mass party with large representation in parliament and a strong following among the working class people. This policy created the basis of a cultural change, able to develop democratic politics by proposing a new Italian way to socialism. Dina Bertoni Jovine collaborated with the cultural organizations and with the official press bodies of the PCI. She mainly engaged in historical and pedagogical studies. She contributed to the recovery of a pedagogical interpretation of the Karl Marx’s works and to the study of pedagogical thought fostered by the Italian Marxists, Antonio Labriola and Antonio Gramsci. This article highlights the main aspects which link the Dina Bertoni Jovine’s and Antonio Gramsci’s pedagogy.
