The concept of «interest» in Antonio Labriola’s pedagogical theory

The contribution aims to investigate the role of interest in Labriola’s pedagogical theory. In specific, through the analysis of his 1876 essay Dell’insegnamento della storia (On the Teaching of History) we intend to set out the depth of this construct in order to show all its connections with history, education and community. In this way, the aim is to highlight how this notion contains within itself all the conceptual cores that the author will develop in his theoretical path from Herbart to Marx and Engels.
