Employability, reflexivity and self-assessment processes: What are the implications for guidance and counseling?
Guido Sarchielli
This paper aims to illustrate the self-perceived employability characteristics that should be strengthened in order to self-manage career paths in new working environments with a high rate of job insecurity. In particular, self-reflexivity and self-assessment processes are analysed. They are functional to increasing skills of self-regulating the relationship between the person and work, which represent a key aspect of employability. By supporting these processes, guidance and counseling services can become effective instruments for implementing social equity policies through the dissemination of specific procedures suited to providing personalised support aimed at strengthening individuals’ employability in their different stages of adult life.
