Psychological capital and technostress

The Covid-19 pandemic has made the importance of using new technologies at work more salient. In this context, many professionals have experienced a new form of stress, namely technostress. The aim of this paper is to explore the relationship between psychological capital and the risk of developing technostress, by considering the mediation role of employee satisfaction with communication with colleagues, superiors and subordinates. The sample of the study was 188 workers, and validation was performed through a bootstrap procedure. Analysis highlighted a total mediation of communication in the relationship between psychological capital and technostress. Practical implications on organizations are crucial: developing communication training programmes could have indirect effects on workers’ and companies’ well-being.
