The article investigates the issue of the development of autonomy in the education of the adult migrant focusing on the processes of teaching Italian as a second language. The main objective is to search for possible strategies to direct the training action towards the construction of a transformative political-pedagogical path. This allows the migrant to acquire critical skills and abilities to overcome marginalization and start as a protagonist his own integration process in the host society. In this direction, it is attempted to enable connections between different disciplines, developing a dialogue between the language-teaching lexicon, critical pedagogical theories and Pedagogical problematicism, trying to translate into practice the instances produced by this interaction. Today it is necessary to rethink the methods of teaching Italian L2, placing the student at the center of the learning process, favoring the development of critical thinking and relational skills to encourage real autonomy and mutual existential enrichment.
