The quality of educational experience between research and training. The students’ point of view
Katia Montalbetti
The paper deals with the educational value of the school experience by adopting students’ perspective.
The conceptual framework points out the challenge for each school: guaranteeing process and result quality by combining external solicitations with internal priorities. Interest in the topic lies at the crossroads between knowledge interest (research) and transformative need (in-service training). For this purpose, a research-training course carried out in a secondary school is described. Some key elements for quality are highlighted, moving from work processes and results: collegiality as a strategic lever to make quality recognizable and recognized by all the actors and methodological accompaniment and supervision to assure lasting learning in the individual and in the context. At the end, the paper recalls the opening value dimension: working with teachers on methodological and technical aspects is not a neutral operation since each choice is guided by a value option.
