Lisa Cerantola, Marzia Saglietti

Considering the national and international debate on children’s participation in alternative care, this article displays and discusses the methodological choices and articulation of a leaving care training for professionals and the path that allowed some care leavers to assume the role of co-trainers. Drawing on trainers’ diaries excerpts, this contribution explains the theoretical premises, methodological attention and challenges of this innovative training, aiming at combining different expertises: the professional one and the one taken «by experience», with this stimulating new and transformative interpretations of the professional practices in the field of leaving care.
