«Fuori Programma»: Tips for teachers to promote the relationship with their students in the online learning during the Covid-19 emergency. Report of the program implementation in two primary schools in Rome and Frosinone

«Fuori Programma» is a support program for primary school teachers. The aim of this program was to support teachers to create a positive relational environment, despite the distance due to Covid-19 emergency, in which children could express themselves, their emotions and thoughts. We provided to teachers some tips and activities, through instant messages via smartphone, to work with children on emotional and educational aspects, taking care of relational aspects that go beyond homework.

The program contributed to support school in preserving its educational and caregiving role, despite the physical distance. The school kept being a comfortable environment in which the child had the opportunity of sharing his/her thoughts and feelings as he/she would have been done during regular attendance at school. Although the program efficacy was not quantitatively assessed, the feedback provided by teachers suggest that the program reached the envisioned aims, and that «Fuori Programma» can be implemented in the future as a structured program to support the child’s wellbeing at school.
