Potere, trama fitta e poliedrica forma – «Usi» e abusi nella relazione educativa

The contribution proposes a critical reflection on power within the educational relationship in health care, an interesting theme in the health sciences. In fact, with the transformation of the models underlying the relationship between health professional and patient was strongly underlined the importance of the humanization of the processes of care and the attention on a professional relationship that places subject in a active position about own path of health. We intend, therefore, explore some epistemological and pedagogical references related to the concept of power and understand the destructive expressions that it can take towards the health of the subject. In fact, the power in the educational relationship in health care can be, depending on the professionist’ relationship, a coercive force or, on the contrary, integrative power, revealing an essential dimension of human relations and deeply nourishing to the promotion of transformational processes aimed to improve their own health.
