Abili paesaggi
Fabio Fornasari
Man has learned to orient himself by thinking about his environment. He has built his way of thinking by orienting himself within his environment. This is also why we use so many spatial metaphors. It does not mean we are all architects, but it surely explains why disability is a mistaken way of thinking about space and not just some people’s weakness. Everyone who is involved in the design of space and objects should go back to this principle, by
noticing that architecture is not simply style and technique but that it begins from the observation of the world.
This conscious observation of how people are accustomed to thinking of themselves and moving through space is
also capable of expressively interpreting these qualities.
