The author of this article associates the desire of recording names and places with the desire of informing by returning to the writings by Germaine Tillion. This desire does not produce contrasts, but completes. It may be found that very precise reconstructions of facts and contexts remain inert. Whereas, it is important for the memory to be prolific because a scientific method of greater quality is developed from the memory.
