It is difficult to imagine that disabled persons can be relocated in a period when factories transfer their production elsewhere. However, the economic crisis exposes the entire integration model of these persons to consequences which are associated with those produced by factories closing down; for example, the risk that this model becomes a «nice thought» no longer sustainable based on the figures. The article addresses the question considering the persons who make some of these services function, facing up to some critical conditions and possible alibis and raising some questions which, in the author’s opinion, need to find an urgent solution through the active participation of the supporting specialists in a renewed awareness of their identity and role.
