The reconstruction of competences in self-assessment, validation and certification: anticipated results, effects and opportunities

Pier Giovanni Bresciani

This contribution focuses on the reconstruction of competences in self-assessment, validation, and certification, underlining the anticipated results, effects and opportunities. In particular, after outlining the socio-economic scenario and the current characteristics of the labour market, the areas in which the reconstruction of the experience is an emerging practice are defined and methodological issues and the different meanings of competence are presented. The article concludes with a reflection on the unexpected effects and new frontiers of reconstruction and recognition of competences, considering learning and self-efficacy, and going beyond budget, validation and certification.
