Clinical psychology and university: The importance of specialised counseling for dyslexic students

Giulia Paoloni, Irene Sborlini, Mario Fulcheri

This paper aims to highlight the emergent condition of dyslexic students in academic contexts. The new guidelines of the National University Conference of Disability Delegates (CNUDD) tend towards true inclusive education that improves the quality of life of students and increases the possibility of access to the academic world. Psychological counseling as an instrument of preference and a specific approach to communicative action (both individual or group), whose purpose is to address critical moments in the university career, is part of a range of services offered in order to promote and strengthen skills and abilities of student development, in synergy with the activities of reception, guidance, mentoring and teaching mediation, in a perspective of full inclusion and protection of equal opportunities in studies.
