Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ): First contribution to the Italian validation.

The aim of this study is to offer a first contribution to the validation of the Italian version of the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ). Four hundred and thirty-one workers participated in the study. Dimensionality, reliability, and concurrent validity were analysed. Confirmatory factor analysis supported a structure with two principal dimensions of leadership: transactional and transformational. In addition, good internal consistency and concurrent validity were established. Results indicate that the Italian version of the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire is a valid instrument for measuring both transactional leadership and transformational leadership also in Italian contexts.
