This contribution offers a valuable reflection on the theme of the culture of change and innovation in the relationship between science and conscience. The culture of change and innovation seen through this lens opens up a dialectic between science and morality, since human beings have in their nature an unlimited desire for truth and goodness. Starting from the nostalgia of happiness as a human aspiration and outlining the crisis of the dominant paradigm in scientific knowledge, the contribution affirms the relevance of the conscience, underlining how scientific progress has no value in itself but a value as a medium, whose purpose is essential to reaffirming the dignity of human beings and of life.
