From the clinic of the territory to the flourishing of the territory: Psychology of sustainability and sustainable development for new perspectives in urban design

Emanuele Leporelli, Giovanni Santi, Michele Di Sivo

The theme of the sustainable development of the anthropized environment involves the current interventions of transformation of territory, above all with the massive phenomena of widespread urbanization that originate, too often, marginal and degrading areas. The design sensibility must therefore generate an overall organic reasoning that takes into account the respect of natural environment, of territory and of built in function of human being, in terms of compliance of virtuous production cycles, with optimization of resources, and especially in new way towards well-being of human being. Well-being in its own and profound meaning, which enriches the vision of sustainability by putting it in a system with the development, progress and respect for the environment in function of human and environment health.
