Architectural space and psychology of sustainability: A new paradigm for living place design
Giovanni Santi, Emanuele Leporelli
The design of living places, whether they are new or deriving from the reuse and re-appropriation of existing places, cannot fail to consider the relationship and the bond established between the individual, or a community, and architecture, i.e. the discipline that organises the space, on any dimensional scale, where human beings live. This study analyses this link through the lenses of the psychology of sustainability and sustainable development, as a new area of transdisciplinary research that aims to enhance the psychological and physical well-being of human beings and of communities in their environments.
