Instruments for Assessing the Career Resources of University Students

Rita Chiesa, Audrey Ansay Antonio

The aim of this study was to examine the psychometrics properties of the Italian versions of the Assimilation and Accommodation Scale and the Career Adaptability Scale. The participants were 165 university students in Italy. Results of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed a two-factor structure for the Italian version of the Assimilation and Accommodation Scale, which is similar to the original version. A one-factor solution was also confirmed for the Italian version of the Career Adaptability Scale. Cronbach’s alpha values also indicated good internal consistency for all Italian versions. Assimilation was also found to negatively correlate to accommodation and positively correlate to career adaptability. The findings of this study highlight the usability and practicality of the Assimilation and Accommodation Scale and the Career Adaptability Scale as relevant measures of career resources among Italian university students.
