The article briefly examines the regulatory evolution that has affected the selection and assessment procedures of public administration personnel. Particular attention is paid to the recent regulations which have accurately framed the new methodologies available to public administrations to deal with selection processes and which represent the arrival point of a path aimed at enhancing the skills-based evaluation process.
