Over the last few decades, the issue of career guidance in university, traditionally a significant topic for applied research and practice in human sciences, has gained attention in the political and cultural debate both at a national and international level. The dialectic discussion among different stakeholders has contributed to feeding a stimulating body of guidelines, perspectives, and dedicated funds, useful for a wider reformulation of actions and practices of intervention and counseling in academic contexts. In line with this scenario, in 2018, MeMos (acronym for Methodologies and Models for Strategic Career Management) was founded, a thematic network affiliated to the National Association of Psychology, connecting academics differently engaged in teaching, research and political academic roles involved in career management. The main aim of the network is to foster the dialogue between research and practice in academic contexts, promoting collaboration between teachers/researchers, professionals, and administrators working in the academic services dedicated to student career guidance, granting them continuous learning and development opportunities. The paper focuses on a short presentation of the network manifesto on university career guidance, illustrating the authoritative scientific roots of action and practices addressed to foster strategic, sustainable and systemic career management.
