How Can Choosing a Specialization Course Be Supported?

In technical high school, choosing a specialization course represents an important developmental task and a further vocational choice. Supporting the decision-making process through self-knowledge and the exploration of professional interests is required. The research is aimed at presenting the development of a guidance programme named ALMA FUTURO and the validation of the ALMA FUTURO ITE INVENTORY. 830 students took part in the research project, 37.2% of participants were male students, they were 15 years old and attending the second year of technical and economics high schools in the city of Bologna. The development of the guidance programme and the validation of the activation tools are presented. The relationship between interests and study approach are also explored.
