The scenario of the last two years, characterised by the Covid-19 pandemic, has caused a transformation of traditional organisational models and redefined new representations and meanings in all professional fields, with decisive consequences for the mental health of everyone. The new normality imposed by the health emergency highlighted the need for rapid but at the same time unplanned global change in school contexts, which led, often unconsciously, to the development of strategies to adapt to change in terms of teaching, management and administrative activities. The aim of this paper is to explore the relationship between psychological capital and strategies for adapting to organisational change, considering the role of job crafting as a mediator in a group of school professionals (manager and teachers). The study was carried out on 325 professionals and validated using bootstrapping at 5000 re-samplings. The results indicate a partial mediation of job crafting in the relationship between psychological capital and adaptation to change. Theoretical and practical implications will be discussed in the paper. Proactive job crafting strategies can contribute to enhancing personal resources (psychological capital) in adapting to change, modifying one’s work behaviour to new transformations and promoting actions of organisational well-being.
