Body dissatisfaction: Reflections on an exploratory survey among adolescents

The article presents data from an exploratory study aimed at detecting the prevalence of the disperceptive phenomenon in a sample of adolescents of both genders. Specifically, the research was initiated with the goal of investigating the relationship that boys have with their own body, the satisfaction experienced in relation to it, and the relative impact on their daily life. The study was conducted through the distribution of two online questionnaires from the end of November 2022 to the end of April 2023, capable of detecting the presence and severity of body image disorders and body dissatisfaction. The results emerged allow us to advance some considerations about the concerns that boys have about their own bodies, from which it is possible to activate preventative programs and promote their biopsychosocial well-being.
