Themes and authors in history, theory, and salesian aspects of education in the «Orientamenti Pedagogici» journal

Michal Vojtáš, Tiziano Conti, Kamil Pozorski

The article, written on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the «Orientamenti Pedagogici» journal, examines themes and authors related to the history, theory, and Salesian aspects of education. In the first part, Kamil Pozorski explores the historical and educational evolution in the first ten years of the journal, outlining how pedagogical research has been influenced by various authors and historical periods. The historical analysis suggests an organic continuity in the development of pedagogical thought rather than revolutionary changes. In the second part focused on educational theory, Tiziano Conti highlights the research of Carlo Nanni, reflecting on the importance of education as a lifelong learning process and as a tool against alienation and dehumanization, promoting an open and inclusive pedagogy that integrates cultural diversity and interculturality. In the final part, Michal Vojtáš analyzes three themes of Salesian pedagogy developed by Pietro Braido: the typically Salesian harmony between educational love and educational skills; the balance between defensive and proactive preventive approach to education; the vital origin of Salesian pedagogy which implies a practical interdisciplinarity.
