The article examines the role and contribution of the journal «Orientamenti Pedagogici» (OP) in the field of School and Vocational Education and Training through a survey of OP’s seventy-year history. The team of professors from the Institute of Didactics at the Salesian Pontifical University selected and analysed articles on seven key issues: instructional design, atypical developmental trajectories of school learning, teacher-student discourse and interaction, learning assessment, school management, work pedagogy as vocational training, and the autobiographical experience of students and teachers. The researchers identified and classified relevant articles, further deepening the analysis to contextualise the contributions within the specific research questions. This paper emphasises the evolution contributions in the journal, highlighting both the thematic trends and the pedagogical, cultural, and policy implications of the published works, with the intention of reflecting on future research directions in education.
