Geragogy: An overview

Geragogy is the discipline which, from a pedagogical and lifelong learning perspective, deals with the education/training/learning of the elderly, increasing their abilities on a psychophysical, personal, existential, social and cultural level and thus preserving their health, well-being and quality of life. The following pages intend to present themselves as a contribution to the knowledge of the geragogical subject, to its peculiarity and purpose which is not merely assistance or rehabilitation, but rather that of knowing how to prepare an environment capable of promoting educational, training, habilitation and learning paths aimed to the elderly, healthy or frail.
