Ecology, «vocation of guardianry» and catechesis today

Starting from the solicitations coming from multiple sources on a planetary level, the article intends to highlight the interest that catechesis for its educational and communicative value is called to develop for the «custody of the common home», going beyond the simply informative level of the basic truths of faith. Education to look, to listen and to commitment, the motivations that rise from the Gospel and genuine ecclesial tradition and the sensitivity to the «signs of the times» can give catechesis that essential depth of current events and significance for a humble and incisive contribution to the life of the planet and to the global well-being of those who live there.
