Evolution of Pietro Braido’s «manual» on the Preventive System (1955-1999)

The article studies the evolution of Peter Braido’s ideas on the Preventive System of don Giovanni Bosco. Three editions of his «manual» are analyzed in particular, embracing nearly a half-century period from 1955 to 1999. The focus of the study is threefold: evolution of his method of study; structure of educational themes that reveals both changing context and author’s mindset; Braido’s theoretical framework that connects the educational issues and gives originality to his synthesis.
