Il contatto con la natura – Effetti sulla salute e sul benessere

Anna Rita Colasanti, Valentina Sorrentino

Based on some of the contributions made within the Environmental Psychology and Health Psychology, this article aims at both highlighting the manifold benefits that derive from our contact with the nature, and alerts against the inherent risks in gradually shifting away from it. Urbanization (the urban type of allocation) has brought with it positive changes, also negative ones; the latter being associated with a stressful lifestyle which is increasingly alienated from nature, with consequences that are non-negligible for the bio-psycho social equilibrium. Therefore, the purpose is both to explore the possible benefits deriving from a more intense contact with the environment and natural elements, and to sensitize the readers with regard to potential benefit of the nature in promoting and maintaining the individual and social health and well-being.
