Education as moral progress «from hand to hand». Considerations starting from Immanuel Kant’s Vorlesungen über Pädagogik

Francesco Brusori

This essay has two purposes. Firstly, it aims to present the existence of an authentic pedagogy in the Critical philosophy of Immanuel Kant. Secondly — in relation with the Criticism — it attempts to highlight the lively connection between this kind of philosophical inquiry and the more general and articulate one to which the philosophy of history and the moral philosophy belong. I shall show that for Kant there is no theory of education that does not take shape within a broader theoretical discourse, which always attempts to pay attention both to the whole course of history and to the formative path of each individual.
