Psychomotricity and Specific Learning Disorders. The child beyond the disorder

This article presents the usefulness of psychomotor activity with pupils affected by Specific Learning Disorders (SLD). Before going into the description of the peculiarities of the psychomotor intervention will therefore come illustrate the historical and regulatory framework within these disorders are inserted, their nosography, and the main psychological theories inherent in the motivation to learn, in order to better understand why Psychomotricity, as a body-mediated discipline that aims at well-being and full development psycho-corporeal, it can be constituted as an effective helping practice, promoting not only the affection-relational aspects of the pupil with SLD, but also the cognitive ones, through a work focused on the enhancement of motor function. Finally, space will be given to a reflection on the importance of prevention, early detection, and teacher training.
