Participation and involvement of students. The total class participation techniques proposed by Pérsida and William Himmele
Marco Bay
The paper presents the total class participation techniques proposed by Pérsida and William Himmele, some operational proposals to give the teacher the chance to judge whether all his/her students are actually learning and working in the class with profound levels of understanding. It is not easy to essentially guide teachers of all levels who want to ensure that their lessons are relevant, engaging and stimulating for the whole class. Pérsida and William Himmele offer the guiding principles of Total Participation Techniques (TPT) and how to use them effectively in the classroom to encourage all students to participate in active learning and to increase the chances of students being involved cognitively in the lessons.
