The Big Hope 2 Global Youth Congress of Liverpool. Teaching love for the profile of wise leaders

Sandra Chistolini

In the summer of 2018, young people between 16 and 35 years of age, from all over the world took part in the second edition of the Global Youth Congress. The international event was organised by the Liverpool Hope University (England) and followed an ecumenical and interreligious, multicultural and humanistic protocol, combining the sense of the global according to the founding concepts of the meeting of cultures. The vision of The Big Hope 2 intended to bring out the values of peace and love and underlined how education is the only possible way to live together in respect of all human beings, overcoming discrimination, conflict, inequality, social injustice. The key points of training for good have been presented in an innumerable number of languages, without neglecting anything of the juvenile universe. Hundreds of delegates gathered at the University were listeners and protagonists, at the same time, tuning cultures, conceptions, beliefs. In the philosophy of Hope University, taking up the challenge of change means giving young people the opportunity to understand how their energies and their ideas can draw and direct the future of the world. The young leaders are getting ready to sit down at the big-politics tables with one of the most significant experiences. The hope is that these young people will influence the most important global choices and will be able to lead change, with courage, passion and wisdom, without being overthrown by difficulties, convinced that they are part of a large-scale project just starting in Liverpool.
