Linee guida per l’orientamento permanente, ovvero orientare verso il futuro

Speranzina Ferraro

The contribution presented intends to represent the new focus of vocational guidance in education and training. It highlights the ongoing process and, at the same time, its purpose. To educate, in fact, means to guide one to the extent that this action is present in an explicit and ongoing manner. The scope of an educative and directive action consists in promoting, supporting, accompanying and guiding the personal and conscious maturation of a person, through specifically designed actions. The basic issue of the role of the school and of each teacher formed for this new task, consists above all in helping a person, whether young or adult, to acquire those life skills, which enable them to cope with the positive and negative stresses of life with awareness, autonomy and resilience and executed professionally and personally. The centrality of orientation implies mutual responsibility of all the institutions that deal with young people and their education, through the definition of a true «educational pact of joint responsibility» to accompany each young towards the future and contribute to their physical and mental well-being.
