Educating young people of the virtual universe for sense research

Mario Oscar Llanos

The article analyzes the current diffusion of the virtual universe and the placement of the youth world with respect to this immense and dynamic cultural and educational container. The assessment of this new and highly challenging situation in the pedagogical field is not univocal or unidirectional. There are those who consider it a paradise and others as an «infer-net». Beyond any judgment, the development of this reality creates an anthropological extension perceived as essential: young people, and mostly adults too, feel the devices as an element connected to their own person. Each failure connection is «a big problem». Therefore it is necessary to study in depth the conditions of socialization, the foundation of education, in cyberspace. This is the purpose of the second part of the article aimed at grasping the new relational possibilities and the transformed cognitive paradigms in adolescent-youth experience. The various levels, sensorial, of the identity and relational, ethical, temporal and spatial, communitarian-virtual, communicative, evolutive and social, generate an educational challenge to be faced with particular emphasis in the search for meaning.
