Educational communities and teacher creativity in multicultural classrooms: Proposals for reflection

Giorgia Pinelli

Drawing on a re-examination of data collected during a recent study «with» and «within» schools, this paper examines several instances of teacher networks that emerged spontaneously in school contexts marked by classes with a high level of multicultural and multiethnic composition. The creativity that surfaced, deeply rooted in the presence of pedagogically mature adult minds attentive to the genuine educational needs of students, presents a set of hypotheses regarding the defining characteristics and motivating factors of a fully developed teaching professionalism.
