Psychological approach to vocational themes in the journal «Orientamenti Pedagogici»

This article develops three perspectives about the psychology of vocation from three perspectives from the journal «Orientamenti Pedagogici», across approximately 22 articles over the last 70 years. The first perspective emphasizes the importance of psychological evaluation for vocations to consecrated life. The second perspective seeks to give the right use to psychology in vocational assessment and training. The third perspective offers some of the results from various research conducted on samples of priests, religious brothers, and sisters to understand and delve into the psychological characteristics of this cohort. It has been found that these three perspectives have significant relevance for consecrated life in the current context, opening promising fields for future reflections.
