Pietro Braido and his educational theory. Pedagogy as encyclopedia of Educational Sciences

The text emphasizes the long, serious and diligent search of Pietro Braido to combine theoretical strength and experience in the educational action. In fact education, as a whole, it is activity that requires multiplicity and unity of qualified intervention on the level of knowledge and action. The reflection on the educational reality takes Braido to say that knowledge of education is set up as sciences system: «not a science but a system of different sciences; rather, of scientific approaches aimed at different sectors of the educational reality, all converging in the unity of educating». This unity will have if all researchers can agree on a common view of education that is beyond the individual and particular sciences and is provided by philosophy and, in particular, the philosophy of education.
