L’approccio pedagogico della classificazione ICF-CY
Monica Pradal
The spread of the ICF Classification Children and Youth Version (ICF-CY) in healthcare and educational environments has brought about a progressive change in attitudes towards disability and consequently in clinical practices and research. The ICF-CY develops new perspectives and new lines of approach in scholastic and educational settings, describing developing individuals in a global, integrative, ecological and inclusive fashion. Disability is described according to the biopsychosocial model; therefore it is the result of the interaction between a person who lives in a certain environment and the contextual factors influencing him or her. The question I ask is whether such a classification can be useful to the pedagogical approach and how it can become a tool for pedagogists.
