La riconquista degli spazi pubblici della città come esperienza di integrazione: percorsi dalla scuola alla città
Daniel Modigliani
«From schools for all to towns for all» shows us the way towards re-appropriation of public spaces starting from schools. Schools are the main meeting places where young people, teachers and parents live on a daily basis. But schools are often isolated from their own neighbourhoods. Parents take their children to school by car since traffic makes the streets dangerous for them. Improving accessibility through the creation of safe paths is possible and
inexpensive. The same network of paths, branching out from school buildings and areas, and connecting squares and gardens, can become a framework for the exploration and knowledge of neighbourhoods and of the whole town. The town can be open to the activities of groups of people and associations, creating physical support and a communications network for social integration.
