L’Index per l’Inclusione: analisi del suo potenziale innovativo nel contesto italiano

The Index for Inclusion (Booth and Ainscow, 2008) has the potential to initiate a significant contribution to the development of inclusion in our country’s schools, provided it is applied by taking into account the culture and the typical organisational and teaching practices adopted in Italian schools. This represents the main argument of this article and the subject of a three-year research project by the «Libera Università di Bolzano» (Free University of Bolzano) that entailed a group of researchers accompanying the application of the Index for Inclusion in seven schools of different types and levels in Alto Adige. Four special aspects of the innovation potential inherent in the Index will be discussed following a short presentation of the tool and the research project.
