Conoscenza e resistenza: cos’è la verità?

Hélène Tessier

The Author examines in greater detail the theme of participation in evil that, sometimes, originates from unwanted situations. The machines of evil and, in particular, the machine testified to and studied by Germaine Tillion, propose problems which concern all fields, and therefore, also the field of research and its «writing». The theme has deep roots and the Author refers to De La Boétie, a friend of Montaigne. The Author of I Saggi (The Essays) had to attend the premature death of that friend in 1563, who in turn was the author of the well-known Discourse on Voluntary Servitude: this reference enables one to understand that research has many resonances. Tessier explains clearly how rebellion and testimony together can become research. Sometimes rearranging the slightly inflexible encoding that the research itself may have adopted.
