Gli atteggiamenti dei datori di lavoro nei confronti delle persone con disabilità

Sara Santilli

This work aims to analyse employers’ attitudes towards disabled employees and to highlight the characteristics of the organisation, the disabled persons and the characteristics of the employers that are more significantly associated with such attitudes. Building on Stone and Colella’s model (1996), this article examines how job applicants with different disabilities are evaluated in a work context and presents evidence of an Italian study conducted with 84 industrial employers. In order to promote the employment of disabled persons it is important to change the way these individuals are perceived and to plan specific programmes to modify the attitudes of the employers.
