Agio e disagio nella relazione di aiuto con la persona disabile che invecchia
Mario Paolini
Professionals and users frequently risk being fragile links in the context of the services network, since they are entrusted
with translating the principles and research work into feasible everyday practice. This article addresses the subject of the ageing of persons with a disability, which is complex in its own right, by starting from the professionals’ point of view in relation to assistance. The professionals are requested to provide conditions to achieve quality ageing. These entail conditions which necessarily require new knowledge and awareness for new skills and expertise and which not only concern the person with a disability, but also themselves and the Self in relation with the other. Not only is it necessary «to manage» new needs, but also to imagine new solutions, ideas which outline a form of action that looks to the future.
