«Con le nostre orecchie»

Piera Bagnus, Marta Giordanino

This article describes a musical animation course adopted in a first class at primary school. The course was based on the use of the musical-sound element as a means of communication and expression in its own right and aimed to ensure a multi-disabled girl received the two fundamental rights of integration and continuous education during the delicate change from infants school to primary school.
The opportunity to experiment with non-verbal relationships among classmates led to the development of intra- and
interpersonal skills, stimulating socialisation and co-operation processes, facilitating the acquisition of knowledge tools and supporting the sense of belonging to the learning community, which are essential objectives in a truly inclusive school.
