Work is freedom!

This paper describes the contribution of FISH Campania to promote the job inclusion of people with disabilities, showing how associations often arrive where institutions cannot. A good example is the experience of AIPD, which carries out concrete and real projects aimed at the job placement of people with down syndrome. Very often the logic of welfare, which families and people with disabilities often tend to perpetuate too, prevails on the logic of active inclusion. This elicits a reflection on the urgency of educating the political, social but above all cultural gaze with a view to the employability of people in educational conditions, understood as educational work that would allow people with disabilities to explore their skills, their dreams and desires in order to build up their own professional project, adhering not only to contextual requests but also and above all to their personal biography.
