The shared body

Analysis of the dialogue between medicine and social sciences is the subject, especially nowadays, of numerous research projects. There are many reasons why we should question whether this is productive for the individual and whether such a dialogue can improve both the training of future doctors and the doctor/patient relationship. Being in good health is an absolute necessity. In the doctor/patient relationship actions are not limited to mitigating the effects of an illness or trauma but imply a commitment aimed at understanding the individual, all the more so in the event of individuals with disabilities. Faced with repeated requests, medical science, not finding satisfactory and at times concrete solutions to various problems and critical issues, attempts to find ways and instruments so as not to abdicate its rule. First of all, facing the continuous changes that the health system imposes, medicine is repeatedly called upon to reflect on its own modus operandi from a multidisciplinary perspective. Furthermore, in the conception of the individual as autonomous and responsible, the doctor-patient relationship is placed at the heart of a new set of problems.
