About liminality. Considerations around an anthropological key concept that questions the educational system and its social role
Matteo Schianchi
Liminality is an anthropological concept applied to disability starting from some analyses formulated by
Robert F. Murphy. After reviewing the meaning and value of the concept, its relevance is analysed as a useful
tool for the analysis of the social experience of people with disabilities and as a criterion that questions some
aspects of school services.
